This tasty Beef Stroganoff recipe will please any palate.
The sour cream makes it very rich and satisfying! You taste this dish once and you will come back for more.
3 large onions (thinly sliced)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
2 Tbs. butter
2 Tbs. olive oil
1 1/2 lbs. lean beef (cut in 1/2″ cubes)
2 Tbs. flour
1 can tomato paste
1 10 oz. can beef consomme
1 pt. sour cream
1 8 oz. can sliced mushrooms
dash of salt
dash of pepper
dash of Worchestershire Sauce (to taste)
Saute onions and garlic in 1 Tbs. each of butter and olive oil until limp and golden. In a large skillet, saute meat in remaining butter and oil until nicely browned.
Add sauteed onions and garlic. Add flour and stir until well blended. Add tomato paste, consomme, sour cream, mushrooms and seasonings.
Cover and simmer over low heat for 1 1/2 hours, or until meat is tender. Stir occasionally. Serve with rice or noodles. Serves 6.
