Lasagna is always a favorite!  Whether cooking for friends or family……it is always a welcome choice.

This lasagna recipe is extremely easy ( It uses ready-made spaghetti sauce).


1  16 oz. package lasagna noodles

1 lb. lean ground beef

1 lb. sweet Italian sausage

2 large jars of your favorite spaghetti sauce

18 oz. mozzarella cheese

16 oz.  ricotta cheese

Grated Parmesan cheese

garlic salt

Italian seasoning


Cook lasagna noodles according to instructions on package.  Drain and set aside.  While the noodles are cooking, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage in just a little olive oil.   Sprinkle garlic salt on the meat mixture (this is according to your taste).

When meat mixture is done, drain and set aside.  Pour your 2 jars of spaghetti sauce into a container for easier measuring.  Then just amply cover your 9 x 13 pan with about 1/3 of the sauce.

Place 1/2 of the cooked lasagna noodles into pan (all going lengthwise).  Layer 1/2 of meat mixture over noodles.  Cover with about 1/2 of the spaghetti sauce.  Sprinkle a little Italian seasoning over sauce.

Mix together the mozzarella and ricotta cheese.  Spoon 1/2 of mixture on top.  Cover again with 1/2 of the remaining spaghetti sauce.  Sprinkle again with a little Italian seasoning. Add remaining lasagna noodles.   Add remaining meat mixture.  Spread remaining cheese mixture.

Use remaining spaghetti sauce to cover top and sprinkle an ample amount of Parmesan cheese.

Bake in 350 degree oven for 45 minutes covered with aluminum foil.  Then bake 15 additional minutes uncovered.  Let cool 5 minutes before eating.
