Pecan Pralines

Pecan Pralines are a Southern treat!

They are easy to make and delicious.  Your family and guests will love them!

This recipe yields 3 dozen.



1 1/2 c.  sugar

1/2 c. brown sugar

1/2 c. milk

1/4 tsp. salt

1/4 c. white Karo syrup

pinch of baking soda

1/4 c. butter

1 1/2 Tbs. Bourbon

2 c. pecan halves

Lightly toast pecan halves in oven (at 350 degrees).

Combine sugar, brown sugar, milk, salt, Karo syrup, soda and butter in a saucepan. Heat to 240 degrees on candy thermometer (stirring constantly).

Remove from stove and stir in bourbon and pecans.  Beat until creamy with spoon.  Drop on parchment paper.  Let cool.
