4 c. water
1 c. grits
1/3 stick butter
8 oz. shredded cheese
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. cayenne
dash of garlic salt

Pour mixture into grits slowly, beating as you go with spoon. Add dash of garlic salt and cayenne pepper. Add 3/4 bacon and green onion. Stir until everything is well blended.
Pour into a 9″ x 13″ greased casserole. Sprinkle remaining cheese, bacon and green onion on top. Bake covered with foil for 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Take off foil and bake another 10 minutes or until golden brown.
