Cherry Dump Cake

Dump Cake is a favorite of many “smart” cooks!  It is ridiculously simple to make and scrumptious.

You just “dump” in the ingredients basically.  No mixing with the electric mixer.  Just dump!  How easy is that?

You can make it with any flavor of pie filling you choose.  This one uses cherry, but blueberry or apple would also taste great!


1 large can crushed pineapple

1 lg. can cherry pie filling

1 pkg. yellow cake mix

1 c. chopped pecans

1 1/2 stick butter (cut into slices)

Spray 9″ x 13″ baking pan lightly with cooking oil spray and wipe excess with paper towel.  (you will thank me for this tip later when it is time to wash the pan)

Dump crushed pineapple into baking dish and spread evenly.  Add cherry pie filling and spread.

Sprinkle the cake mix over your cherry pie filling and spread gently over the filling.

Sprinkle chopped pecans over the top.  Cut the butter into slices and arrange evenly over the top.

Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour.

This easy cake is delicious by itself OR with a scoop of ice cream.  If you eat it warm with the cold vanilla ice cream……be prepared for bliss!
